铁死亡与抑郁症的相关性及其潜在药物治疗策略

摘要:
抑郁症是一种以情绪低落为核心症状的精神障碍,其病发机制复杂,病因尚未被彻底阐明,目前仍无有效的针对性治疗药物,是当前医学领域的难点之一。铁死亡是一种新型的铁依赖性细胞死亡机制,参与神经系统、肿瘤等多种疾病的病理过程,但其在抑郁症中的作用尚不清楚。通过综述铁死亡与抑郁症的内在联系(脂质过氧化、铁代谢、线粒体功能障碍)从而探讨基于铁死亡机制的抑郁症治疗新策略,为未来的抑郁症治疗提供新的方向。

Correlation of Ferroptosis with Depression and its Potential Therapeutic Strategies

Abstract:
Depression is a mental illness characterized by a persistent low mood, and its pathogenesis is complex. The etiology of these disorders remains unclear,and there are still no effective targeted treatment regimens,posing a significant challenge in the field of medicine. Ferroptosis is a novel iron-dependent cell death mechanism implicated in the pathogenesis of various diseases, including neurological disorders and cancer. However, its role in depression remains unclear. We shall go over the inherent relationships between ferroptosis and depression, encompassing aspects such as lipid peroxidation, iron metabolism, and mitochondrial dysfunction. The aim is to explore novel therapeutic strategies of depression treatment based on the mechanism of ferroptosis, ultimately providing a fresh perspective for the future treatment of this mental disorder.
